CHRISTMAS MESSAGE 2011

Christmas is a wonderful time to stop and reflect on life. As our minds replay the events of last 12 months, we can feel overwhelmed by the turbulence of the times. The news headlines have carried stories and images that have been both traumatic and graphic – from the floods, tsunamis and earthquakes in our region to political and financial instability on a global level. All of this, as well as our individual personal challenges, can leave us feeling anxious and uncertain about the future.

Thankfully, in the midst of this turmoil, we can find hope and strength in the One who is the centrepiece of Christmas ­- Jesus Christ. Of the many names that the Bible uses to describe Him, one that is so apt for us today is the ‘Prince of Peace’. Our prayer is that you would discover the wonder of the peace He offers us all, not only this Christmas season but that is available every day.
