Michael Murphy

MICHAEL MURPHY is the Senior Pastor of Shirelive church, located in the southern part of Sydney. Michael is a State Executive member of the ACC NSW, and also Director of New Churches Australia (NSW) which spearheads Church Planting in NSW and is the founding Chairman of Global Community Initiatives – Missions Agency.
His down to earth approach to following Jesus has greatly impacted his local area and the nation alike.

Michael has been in ministry for over 20 years and is passionate about every person experiencing Jesus everyday and being able to live in significant relationships with one another. The leadership emphasis of Michael’s ministry, embraces strongly the notion that every believer is called to active disciplemaking, outworking a spirit of multiplication through the local church. His desire to equip business people, families and global hearted churches has become a real focus of not only their own local church at Shire but also his extended ministry both nationally and internationally.

Shire Christian Centre’s journey in cell ministry has grown from 70 cells in 2002 when they began the G12 vision to over 250 cells.
Michael and his wife, Valery, who co-pastors the church with him, have three children - Leah, Ryan and Elyse - all very active in church life.
